UNCONDITIONAL POSITIVE GRATITUDE
The attitude of complete acceptance and love, whether for oneself or others is what we call as an Unconditional Positive Gratitude of a human being towards life. When you have unconditional positive gratitude for a human then you can never see any person as your enemy and can be a reason to inspire other people. Rather you start seeing them inherently as a human being and start loving them. This does not mean that you accept every action done by them towards you. But you start seeing every person as a Buddha and you accept them as who they are. Happiness comes from solving problems not by running away from it. You don’t judge any of them by their cover but rather understand deeply their inner behavior.
Unconditional Positive Gratitude is a form of action we do towards other human beings. We accept them as they are, without judging what there actions or strength is. Its a way of thanksgiving towards life for giving us everything beyond our failure. Being grateful is one of the major important tool in our life to overcome many of our stress levels and an inspiration for others. Each day if we follow this practice of gratitude towards one another or life, we can sustain harmony in the world. The kind of caring client-therapist desires, is accepting the patient as they are, Not by a thought in the therapist mind that they may in fact be or otherwise.
Some examples to explain unconditional positive gratitude:
Unconditional Positive Gratitude In Social Work
A social worker is disciplined individuals who take an effort to help individuals, families in rural and urban areas. They take efforts to serve people of low level to get their basic necessities every day and help them improve their living conditions. Social workers impart constant education and knowledge to these people so that they don’t find themselves in an awkward situation anytime.
Often, people of low-level society find themselves difficult in coping with the current life situations. They have a negative impact on oneself. Having different cultural backgrounds and belief makes them difficult to sustain. This diverse view between both clients and social worker marks unconditional positive gratitude as an important feature.
Unconditional Positive Gratitude In Counseling
The best way to understand the positive gratitude is in a therapy session done by the therapist. In this, there are scenarios, where clients share their thoughts, feelings, or behavior with the therapist. The attitude of the clients is sometimes simply not acceptable as they are in their mental state. In this case, the therapist may simply show their unconditional acceptance of the client behavior by knowing what they are feeling. A therapist may try and understand what drove the thought or this particular behavior of the client. Rather than focusing on the client’s actions and immoral behavior a therapist can accept them with there own positive attitude.
Practicing Gratitude is seen in the therapist by simply accepting the client as they are. By winning their trust and simply showing them they are important beyond there actions. This gives a message to the client that when a therapist can accept him as he is, he too can accept oneself.
Unconditional Positive Gratitude In Parenting
Unconditional positive Gratitude does not mean that you accept and approve of everything that your child does. A child cannot be given free rein to behave in an unhealthy way they like. Rather, it is an attitude that allows the child to feel loved and accepted. Positive Gratitude towards a child help in the development of a child’s self-worth and self-confidence.
When you adopt an unconditional positive attitude towards your child, you allow him to be free to try new things. You allow them to make mistakes, and be spontaneous with whatever they do. The child will undoubtedly make some decisions that will lead to negative consequences, but only then they will be free to craft their own way and learn from oneself to build a healthy sense of self-worth.
